This is one of fifty-eight folios now detached from its codex (Chester Beatty In 03). Extensively illustrated, these form volume two and part of volume three of the biography of the Mughal emperor Akbar (r. 1556-1605), composed by his court historian and minister Abu’l-Fazl `Allami.
