Colour woodblock print, Evening cool at Shinobugaoka by Katsukawa Shunchō, published by Fushimiya Zenroku in Edo (modern Tokyo), Japan, between 1787 and 1789. The arrangement of the people suggests that this diptych was once part of a larger polyptych print. The muted palette and shadows that stretch from the figures are especially striking.
