Engraving on paper of the Arrest of Paul in Jerusalem from a series based on the life of St Paul, engraved and probably published by Jan Sadeler (1550-1600) after a design by Maarten de Vos (1532-1603) in Cologne in 1581. Latin text inscribed below is from Acts 23.10. Paul is violently attacked by an angry crowd. Fearing for Paul's safely, the commander orders his troops to take the saint to the barracks. In the background, Paul preaches to the crowd from the steps of the Temple.
