Mezzotint portrait on paper of philosopher John Locke (1632-1704) engraved by John Smith (1652-1743) in London in 1721. It is a copy in reverse of a painting by Sir Godfrey Kneller (1646-1723) which was then in the Collection of Sir Robert Walpole, Houghton Hall, and acquired by the Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg in 1779 (ГЭ-1345).
