- Small papyrus scroll containing an archival copy of a homiletic letter from Horsiesios addressed to the brother of the Pachomian monastic community in Egypt, written in Sahidic Coptic and probably copied in the sixth century. Horsiesios (d. 387) was successor to Pachomius, founder of Christian cenobitic (communal) monasticism, as head of the Pachomian Koinonia. This manuscript is associated with a collection of material from the Pachomian monastic library (also known as the Dishna Papers or Bodmer Papyri), a portion of which was purchased by Beatty in 1956.
