Embossed silver case for an Esther scroll (Megillah) probably made in Italy and dated to the 18th century. It is decorated with scroll work, floral design and an unidentified coat of arms ornamented with the 'hands of Cohen' and surmounted by a crown. The scroll was originally housed within the case, and when read was unfurled through the vertical slot then rerolled using the silver roller still attached to the scroll (see CBL Heb 768).
