Papyrus fragment preserving a return by a widow to the exegetes of the property left by her land husband, written in Oxyrhynchus between 98 and 102 AD, during the reign of Trajan.
'To Ptolemy, priest, exegetes, from Thaesis daughter of Diogenes son of Thonis, her mother being Zois daughter of Antipater, of Oxyrhynchus, with her legal representative, Soter son of Soter also called Damas, of the same city. Being asked by you what are the goods left by my late husband now deceased, Heron son of Epimachus, of the same city, I declare, swearing by the fortune of Imperator Caesar Nerva Trajanus Augustus Germanicus and the ancestral gods, that the goods as shown in detail are: Of a russet dress belonging to me ... sold by me, value 64 drachmas, others (or another) ... sold ...'
