Papyrus fragment preserving part of a customs receipt, written at Bacchias and dated 2 September 184 (?) AD. The toll is not for goods carried by the donkey but the donkey itself. The emperor is not named, but the regnal year, 25, suits only Commodus or Caracalla; the editors (Bell and Roberts) favoured the former. A row of seven x's are written at the foot of the text.
'Duty has been paid at the customs station of Bacchias for the 3 per cent tax, by Orsenuphis, on one = 1 mouse-coloured female donkey for work. Year 25, Thoth fifth = 5.'
